Universitas Indonesia (UI) released the result of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2017 on December 11th, 2017. Ondokuz Mayıs University, with the total score of 3,776, became Turkey’s 16th and the world’s 435th best green campus.
This year 619 universities in 76 countries participated, compared to last year 515 universities in 75 countries. It is the first and only university rankings in the world that measure each participating university’s commitment in developing an ‘environmentally friendly’ infrastructure. The rankings look at 6 indicators of each university (setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation and education). University of Wageningen with the total score of 7,552.00 became the world’s best green campus, followed by the University of Nottingham (total score 7,464.00) and the third-ranked is the University of California, Davis (total score 7,365.00).
