A seminar themed “Ecology and Sustainability in Architecture: Examples of Local Architecture and New Interpretations in Bodrum Example” has been held with the cooperation of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Architecture and Samsun Chamber of Architects. Senior Architect Ahmet İğdirligil attended the seminar held in the scope of Architecture Week as speaker.

Senior Architect Ahmet İğdirligil explained in the seminar in detail the factors which shaped the forming of local architecture in Muğla’s Bodrum county and shared with participants old-new and their own architecture works. Producing new structures with a new perspective using local materials indigenous to traditional architecture, İğdirligil stated that they tried to create solutions which will include environment data and protect the land structure, present tree texture and natural terraces in their structures.

At the end of the seminar, İğdirligil answered the questions of academicians and students and received their attendance certificate from the Head of Samsun Chamber of Architects İshak Memişoğlu and sapling certificate from Dean Prof. Derya Oktay.
