The certificate ceremony of the “International Sign Language Seminar” held with the cooperation of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Distance Education Centre (UZEM), OMU School of Foreign Languages, and The Ministry of Youth and Sports was conducted.

Principal Advisor to the Rector Prof. Mehmet Ali Cengiz, Deputy Manager of UZEM İzzet Akça, Director of OMU School of Foreign Languages Assoc. Prof. Nalan Kızıltan, and the trainees have participated in the ceremony.

Following an 18 hours long education, 20 trainees qualified to receive a certificate. Trainers of the seminar also received their certificate of appreciation. Trainer Hasan Dikyuva gave a short speech during the ceremony where he emphasized the importance of knowing the deaf culture and mentioned the necessity of the integration of the people with disabilities into the society. Dikyuva also underlined the fact that sign language should be recognized as a true language.
